With Valentine's Day just a week away, here's a thought... Did you ever open a bottle of a designer knock-off  perfume instead of the real thing? Did you ever receive a fake signature handbag a color that doesn't match anything you wear? Did you ever unwrap a box of some stringy red negligee when you usually walk around in a white beater and a pair of his boxers? Ladies, do you always get what you want  or at least expect for Valentines Day? Many of us do not. Yes, the economy is bad and we can't be as extravagant as we would like when shopping for gifts, but it is after all once a year, and kind of like another Christmas and Halloween rolled into one with the getting and giving of presents and candy.   I'm not saying you shouldn't appreciate what you have been given or even to expect the ridiculous, (like diamonds when he's struggling to make car payments or college tuition) because you only create the disappointment for yourself. You read right, no new years resolutions for me! Another year gone, and how quickly it flew. Not another year of beating myself up over not sticking to a new resolution, I am continuing to keep my goals to myself. I think that most people don't believe that you will stick to a new resolution not because they don't believe in you, but because it usually doesn't happen from the start or it doesn't continue to the end of your (unrealistic) goal. It's not that you don't want to reach your goals, but at some point it goes from "I am going to do this for me " to "I have to show them I can do this". This is when you resolve that it's too much work for you to do on top of EVERYTHING else you have going on in your life. Most people won't even care about your resolution but you're always wondering when someone is going to ask if you are sticking to it. Then God forbid you make the same resolution again, no one is going to believe yo...
