HAPPY 2018 NO YEAR RESOLUTION!
You read right, no new years resolutions for me!
Another year gone, and how quickly it flew. Not another year of beating myself up over not sticking to a new resolution, I am
continuing to keep my goals to myself. I think that most people don't believe that you will stick to a new resolution not because they don't believe in you, but because it usually doesn't happen from the start or it doesn't continue to the end of your (unrealistic) goal.
It's not that you don't want to reach your goals, but at some point it goes from "I am going to do this for me" to "I have to show them I can do this". This is when you resolve that it's too much work for you to do on top of EVERYTHING else you have going on in your life. Most people won't even care about your resolution but you're always wondering when someone is going to ask if you are sticking to it. Then God forbid you make the same resolution again, no one is going to believe you will do it. This of course can have a very negative effect which will become the reason or excuse you use for not giving it your all.
Last year I decided for 2018 I would make some more agreements (not promises) with myself. I think that if you make a promise to yourself and you can't keep it, you feel even worse. I also agreed to be realistic with myself about what I wanted to do. For example I want to lose some weight (and I have been successful so far) but I'm NOT setting any date or specifying any number of pounds to lose for my goal. Instead I am going to gradually change my eating habits which is a lot easier than just abruptly eliminating and replacing foods in my diet. I agreed that I would get more rest--- not be in bed at the same time every night because I know it won't happen. Instead I will become more aware of what I'm doing such as making any plans that will keep me up late.
I also agreed to be more active in my blogging but if I don't write something daily I will keep posting. So with that said, stay tuned for more of the
